Christmas days out and activities | Blogmas 13!

Christmas and the colder seasons are perfect for family or friend get togethers, days out to Christmas markets, meals at new places and fun activities! Below is a cute lil image of some of the activities and days out I could gather up and think of during the colder seasons and festive time.

Going for a Christmas meal with close friends and their little ones is a lovely way to get into the festive spirit and even use it as a day to gift swap. It is a tradition to have our Christmas meal get together where we catch up over a nice meal and exchange cards and gifts and cheers to the year that's gone and the new one to come.
One of my favourite things to do over a weekend or during a weekday evening is to enjoy Christmas films, chatting, music, good food and a warm or cold beverage. Being at home with nice and chill, wearing cosy clothes with those I love is perfection for me. What better than to find Christmas spirit within your own home.
Another way of getting into the festive spirit at home is to gather some friends, get cosy with homemade food, nice drinks, PJ's on and get some of your favourite games out. Having a night in takes away the pressure of worrying what to wear, how much to spend on drinks and how you're getting home etc. It's a nice night where everyone can be at ease and have fun.
One of my favourite things to do during the colder seasons and Christmas is to go around my favourite coffee shops and try the yummy flavoured syrups in coffee or hot chocolate. It's nice and relaxing, warm and super cosy. There's nothing like being in a coffee shop with a loved one, sipping a warm beverage and catching up.

Baby it's cold outside

If you get snow around winter time, suit up, boot up and head out for a walk. Build a snowman, have a snowball fight or maybe a photography session. Snow is so beautiful and can really allow you to capture some fantastic pictures! I love snowy weather so much providing it is safe for those walking and on the road. Make sure you keep nice and warm and really suit up when going out. Also keep in mind your pets when taking them for a walk!

Each year my aunties care home hosts a Christmas party where Santa comes in and gives gifts, raffle prizes and has a little karaoke session. Last year the mayor of Sutton Coldfield joined us in the fun and games. It was lovely for the residents to have the feeling of togetherness and give them stimulation to help get them into the Christmas spirit despite being poorly. Music can often help with dementia sufferers and therefore the activities within the Christmas party is really good for bringing back some memories and hopefully creating new ones.

Although it’s not for everyone you could try visiting your local snow dome or Christmas Market and have fun on the ice rink, winter wonderland and many more winter themed activities. Although it can be tough I love Ice skating. I think there is something magical about it, even when you fall on your bum haha.

Fun at home!

Crafting is a lovely way to get into the festive spirit whilst staying in the comfort of your own home. I love knitting and making pompoms as well as paper snowflakes and many others! Crafting can be a wonderful activity during the festive time whether that be on your own or with the kids! They can even come in handy when thinking of gifts for loved ones.

I know it may not be everyones cup of tea but I love experimenting with makeup when I’m home alone. It’s fun to look through palettes and try out new and experimental looks. Since this year I have a makeup advent calendar it makes things like this more fun and exciting as every day you get a new product!

I love trying new looks and finding what works for my skin and eyes etc. Since it’s Christmas I have also loved trying new creative looks like reindeer and such. It’s great fun with your little ones too±

Foodie Fun!

One of my favourite things to do is enjoy a sweet treat! We love making our own bowls of ice cream fun. We like to get different flavours, fun bowls, cream and toppings or things to go alongside like sweets, sprinkles, cakes and much more! Whipped cream is so much fun to put on sweet things and it adds a light and fluffy feeling to the ice cream. What a lovely feeling cosying up with a good film and enjoying a tasty bowl of ice cream.

Baking is the perfect way to spend a day or evening in. It’s soothing, occupying, fun and you get so much satisfaction knowing you have made something so yummy!
I love being able to decorate sugar cookies, gingerbread and cakes! It gives so much creative freedom and endless fun using lots of coloured icing and toppings.

I love using food as a fun, cosy activity! Making things like a cheese board is wonderful. You can buy some cheese knives, try new cheeses and put an array of different things onto the board. It looks great, tastes great and is super simple to make and enjoy for yourself, friends or family.

What do you enjoy doing during the winter and Christmas season?

I'd love to hear your ways to have fun or get into the festive spirit!

Stay wonderful!
