Halloween Costumes! | Scriptober Day 21

Mad scientist

For our Halloween theme a few years ago, we went for the look of a mad scientist family! My mum, brother, partner and I wanted to set the scene and keep it realistic by taking on the characters. We simply bought white lab coats from amazon, white aprons and some accessories like liquid latex wounds, science equipment and some goggles.

To help keep it creepy, we splattered fake blood onto our coats and aprons and manually wrecked and dirtied them. In a safe environment and practise we burnt our coats with lighters and used wet tea bags to give off a rustic, used and old look! It was so simple and yet so affective!

Freak show

Although these costumes you see aren’t DIY, I wanted to share them for those looking to spend little and get an awesome outfit for Halloween!
The ring master outfits are from Amazon and are very affordable. I also ordered my mask from there too and topped it off with a hat I already owned.

Before buying this outfit I considered creating myself and had I had the time it would’ve been easy and awesome! All I’d need is a white shirt from any shop, a bow tie and waistcoat. I already own skirts, shorts and trousers and would be able to pull off the look with those.

To creep it up, fake blood and liquid latex are fab! They can add some extra spookiness to your look should you feel necessary!

There are so many elements to freak shows and therefore you could use any character from the circus and pull it off!

Think outside the box! Sometimes DIY can be so easy with what you already have! Stay wonderful! Louna x
