Mental Health Chats

I begin the vlog with a chat about my day! I went to my local shopping centre for my mental health appointment. During my meeting I was completely discharged from my mental health service which was scary but a huge huge achievement!

Being under mental health services for such a long time becomes a constant reminder that someone has your back and that if times become harder you can find help within your team of mental health professionals who can support you and help you through your difficult time. They help you to help yourself and remind you of why you’re still here in life and how to make the best out of your life situations. I had become so used to being under the services that I never thought I would be discharged. It was something to just be with me for life in my mind, but little did I know that this day I was completely discharged.

I was discharged due to me giving them more ideas than they were giving me. I was using the appointments to just chat about what I’m doing for myself and my team realised I wasn’t actually needing guidance anymore, I was mores using the meetings as validation to what I was already doing! This is very motivational to hear. I am now basically moving from service user to colleague due to working with Think4Brum on projects to improve the industry.

Storage boxes & Fun!

During my day out for my mental health meeting, I popped to the local shops and bought lots of boxes from Wilko & poundland. I’m using these boxes to better organise my living space to avoid unnecessary clutter. I chat about the KonMari style of tidying and how tidying can help your health mentally and emotionally as well as physically. I believe that if you have a decluttered space in your home, your mind will be less cluttered and you can move on without that extra stress and cloudy mind!

Boxes for me are a life saver! I use them to organise my clothing drawers, kitchen and all of my makeup and crafting materials! They are a visually clean way to store bits and bobs that would appear cluttered alone. I think that if you can find boxes of all sizes for a small amount if it perfection! I use old gift boxes and shoe boxes! It may seem bizarre but reusing things is fantastic for saving money and reducing waste!

Hair fun!

Throughout my life my mum and I have loved having nights in where we play with each others hair and do little massages. As I’ve grown up, I found that it is an excellent bonding time and is so relaxing for both of us, especially during bad days.

When shit hit the fan this year with our intense family trauma, our evenings in doing hair and massages became more often. We use our Lush massage bars and different hair accessories to make styles and relax whilst doing. I have always found that people playing with my hair really calms me down, so when I’m having bad anxiety days, they are the perfect way to end a lovely evening before bed!

Usually it’s mum doing my hair, but during this vlog I decided to curl mums hair to see what she thinks of the two separate curling tongues. We have a corkscrew curl wand and a regular thick curling wand for loose curls.
