What I’m currently reading | Book series

So, one I haven’t done for a while; A book post! I absolutely love reading. I love the idea of being able to travel through time and escape reality by simply reading the words of fantastic writers. What a simple yet magical concept. I personally am the kind of person who will either take a few years to read a single book or I will read it within a few days. It’s all down to my current lifestyle and what is taking up my time. Since having so much trauma in my family I have found it really difficult to get in some well deserved ‘Me time’, but recently I have made it my plan to really prioritise getting some time in for myself! One thing on the top of my list is to read more, so that’s exactly what I’ve done.

With my mind being so constantly active with thoughts and ideas, I’m the kind of person who loves immersing myself into a good book and becoming part of it with the characters. I visualise the way the setting and people look and I love to make the story part of my daily life by incorporating ‘Me time’ into each day tucking into a good book.

I’m also the kind of person who enjoys reading multiple genres and sometimes all at once as I simply can’t decide which genre I’m in the mood for. I have set aside a few books from different genres and have been really enjoying using them for different moods. So here goes! My current reads.

Sleeping beauties - Stephen King & Owen King

I have only recently started reading this book but am absolutely stuck to it! It is my current horror read and I’m so glad I picked it up. I was just walking up the stairs one day and glanced at the books on our bookshelf and saw my horror collection. It sparked this fire in me that wanted to dive into a horror as I’m always watching horror films but never really read many in the recent years.

I walked past it a few more times before deciding to start it. Boy am I glad I did! It has become my bath and before bed read and it’s fit in nicely into my perfect evening routine.

It’s most certainly a harder read than other books in my collection. It’s long and the chapters are super lengthy, being split into parts for separate characters of the story so I have to make sure to read it without too many long breaks otherwise I forget the characters and stories, but other than that I absolutely love it! It’s fun to read and every chapter leaves me wanting more and more. It’s definitely an immersive read. I most certainly recommend it to those horror and Stephen king fans.

An edited life - Anna Newton

This book is one that I go back to every so often. It’s a more laid back kind of read that inspires me to keep organised and keep on top of my life, work and home. Anna is such a cool person. She is super lovely, talented and really inspires me in my work, every day life and in keeping things clear and organised. I read this when I want something closer to reality whilst still diving into a good book.

With me being the kind of person who loves working from home and keeping on top of life, this book is a great one to keep in my bookshelf for when I need some tips and advice. I most certainly recommend this to anyone who doesn’t fancy a fictional book at the moment.

Ninja school mum - Lizzie Chantree

This book I will confess I have been reading for AGES! – I absolutely love it and am 73% into on my Amazon fire hehe. It is a book of humour, fantasy and romance and is just so unique. I’ve never read a book like it and the main character really does make me feel inspired to become an ultimate badass b*tch.

The author is an amazing lady who runs Creative biz hour over on Twitter each Monday and she has made me feel so welcomed. I started joining the chat a few years ago and it is just such a lovely evening networking hour full of creative and talented people.

I cannot wait to read the ending to see how it goes, but at the same time I don’t want it to end! If you enjoy books that inspire you to be awesome, definitely read this.

Thank you for reading. What are your current reads? Let me know in the comments.

Stay wonderful!
